The Idea:

A Jewel Made in Greece ιs a multidimensional and
elegant platform that presents designers and jewelersof
Contemporary Art Jewelry, while developing a creative
dialogue between the culture of Contemporary Art and

the longhistory of Greek Jewelry.

The Goal:

To present and promote the image of Modern Greek
Contemporary Jewelry to the world, while establishing
the “A Jewel Made in Greece’’ as a point of reference
for Greek creativity, high aesthetics, and outward-

looking strategy.
The Implementation:

In 2013, following a personal pursuit of Mary Samoli, an
ambitious idea came up. The implementation started by
inaugurating the idea in early 2014 in Technopolis, the
cultural center of the Municipality of Athens, with the
first Exhibition of Contemporary Creative Jewelry in
Athens. An event highly honored to be held under the

auspices of the

Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Development, Enterprise
Greece, the National Archaeological Museum, the

Numismatic Museum. Respectively proud and excited

for the honorable participation of the

Byzantine and Christian Museum, the Museum Alex
Mylona-Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, and
the Museum of Greek Folk Art, which participated in the
exhibition by presenting replicas of the ancient

collections jewelry ’
The Vision:

The team of the ‘’A Jewel Made in Greece’’, in which
more than 75 inspired designers participate annually,
supports and highlights the uniqueness of each artist by
showing respect to each one’s personal character of
art Besides, jewelry, like any work of art, refers to the
meeting between people and the world. “Jewel”, which
means alignment in harmony, is the human need to
place in order what is happening around us.

The “Soul” of AJMIG:

The Greek contemporary artists and designers
participate by exhibiting their jewelry both via AJMIG’s
digital platform and via their participation in the various
venues of AJMIG. Designers’ truly inspired creations

promote and convey the message:

Greek Jewelry is timeless, competitive, inexhaustible,
and strongly desirable in Greece and abroad.
